Lime Plaster Melbourne & Mornington Peninsula

Natural, handcrafted walls with warmth, depth and subtle movement.

Rightcoat creates premium lime plaster finishes for homes and architectural projects across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Hand-applied by our specialist team, lime plaster creates a soft, earthy and textured surface that changes subtly with natural light.

For those drawn to the organic look of limewash, polished plaster or natural stone but wanting greater depth and texture, lime plaster offers a beautifully tactile alternative.

Lime Plaster on The Block

Rightcoat was proud to work with Lisa and Rosco on The Block, creating handcrafted lime plaster finishes to complement their vision for the home.

Working within The Block's demanding schedule meant carefully managing multiple application stages and drying times while maintaining the quality and character of the finished surface.

FEATURED ON THE BLOCK 2026

Walls with depth, not just colour

Lime plaster creates a soft, layered surface with natural variation, texture and movement. Unlike a flat painted finish, it interacts with changing light throughout the day, giving each wall its own character.

Rightcoat applies each finish by hand, allowing the movement and final appearance to be carefully tailored to the architecture, lighting and overall design of the space.

We use premium Marius Aurenti lime finishes, selected for their natural mineral character, refined colour palette and ability to create both contemporary and timeless interiors.

Benefits

Breathable surface

Lime allows water vapour to pass through the finish, helping walls manage moisture naturally.

Handcrafted finish

Natural mineral character

A refined mineral surface with subtle tonal variation rather than the uniform appearance of standard paint.
Every wall is individually trowel-applied, making the movement and final character unique to the space.

Finish Options

A finish tailored to your design

Soft Matt lime plaster

A subtle, natural finish with gentle movement and a quiet, chalky appearance.

Refined trowel finish

A smoother, more polished interpretation that catches the light and creates greater tonal depth.

The Marius Aurenti Fine Lime system can be left matt or trowelled as a stucco-style finish. Its Marmorino product incorporates fine marble grain for a thicker or lightly grained result.

Textured mineral finish

A more pronounced surface with added grain and material presence for feature walls and architectural spaces.

Where lime plaster works beautifully

  • living rooms

  • bedrooms

  • entry halls

  • stairwells

  • ceilings

  • fireplaces and feature walls

  • retail and hospitality interiors

Lime plaster is particularly effective across large walls and ceilings, where changing natural light reveals the movement and depth of the finish. It can suit both contemporary and traditional architecture depending on the selected colour, texture and application style.

Product selection depends on the substrate, location and exposure. Standard Fine Lime is intended for interior walls and ceilings outside direct splash zones. Damp rooms may require a protective wax, while exterior areas require a suitable exterior-rated system such as Marmorino.
